As I sat quietly yesterday on the Sunday afternoon after Christmas watching the snow fall outside and thinking the weather forecasters might have gotten it right this time. It looked like it was going to be a “plowable event” for us here in MN. With that in mind I looked back at my blog post from Ground Hog Day 2021 which was titled “Snow Shoveling Tips”. This post was very well read so I am reposting for those of you who may be interested.
The tips come from my favorite lifestyle website, The Spruce. I have cut and pasted it all for you below.

Happy Groundhog Day! If the groundhog sees his shadow today, we will have 6 more weeks of winter. In MN that is usually a given. Also, I would dare to say that we will have more snow this season. That is why I am offering snow shoveling tips.
I found a website that is new to me called The Spruce. Their web page says they are one of the top 3 largest lifestyle properties online.

Preparing to Shovel Snow: Safety, Comfort, Efficiency
-Stretch your muscles and wax your shovel (PAM is a good alternative).
Staying Safe and Proper Shoveling Technique
-Remember to bend your knees and don’t lift too much snow at one time.
Snow Shoveling Tips for Those Who Park in the Driveway
-Clear a path to the driver's door of your car first. It’s best to avoid trampling down snow because it’s harder to remove.
Have a Plan Before You Start Shoveling
-Shovel in stages if you can.
